Family escaped the Odisha railway accident and arrived back at home in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur on June 3. Getting a second opportunity in life is like rebirth.
The tragedy happened as the family was travelling to Chennai. The family member recounted their experience and what they went through.
The surviving family remembered the “cries and blood” images from the heartbreaking tragedy, losing hope that they would survive the catastrophe.
We were travelling to Chennai. There was a jerk followed by a large amount of smoke. I was unable to see anyone. Later, the locals came to our aid.
The survivor admitted, “We were really afraid. 238 people have now died in the June 2 Balasore railway disaster in Odisha, and 900 more have been hurt.
Due to a railway derailment, which caused the train collision, 2 passenger trains and a goods train were all involved in the catastrophe.
