On Monday, a glitch with a passenger’s mobile phone charger caused an Air India flight from Udaipur headed for Delhi to return to the port shortly after pushback, according to officials.
One of the officials reported that the flight AI 470 was at least an hour late before departing for Delhi.
An airline representative reported that a passenger’s phone charger had broken down.
The airline representative added that the passenger informed the cabin crew of the overheating mobile phone after noticing it. In order to protect the passengers, the aircraft that had pushed back afterwards made a precautionary turn around.
An official at the Udaipur airport, however, claimed there was allegedly smoke on the plane, which is why it made a pushback.
Although the precise progression of the incident could not be immediately determined, indications indicated that a passenger’s power bank was having problems.
