Alia Bhatt & Ranbir Kapoor pose for media outside “Vastu”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, two of Bollywood’s biggest stars, tied the knot on Thursday in their Bandra, Mumbai, apartment in front of a small group of family and friends.

At around 6 p.m., some of the people who had helped to set up the mandap came out to tell reporters that the wedding had been completed. The rituals were confirmed to be over by those close to the family later.

Soon after Bharat Sahni’s departure from Vastu, Ranbir’s brother-in-law. Celebrity guests were leaving, so bouncers sprung into action to clear the way for their cars.

Laddoos were served to members of the press and those gathered outside.

The only concession to the otherwise understated affair may have been the sound of dholaks.

Snack boxes were handed out to the media personnel stationed outside Vaastu.

Ranbir, Raj Kapoor’s grandson and a scion of the first family of Bollywood, and Alia, the daughter of film-maker Mahesh Bhatt, are both Bollywood royalty, so the cameras were always rolling.

Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor, sister Ridhima Kapoor Sahni and her family, cousins, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, as well as Aadar and Armaan Jain along with their mother Reema Jain, and uncle Randhir Kapoor were among those who entered the house.

Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan, Pooja Bhatt, and Shaheen Bhatt were all in attendance on Alia’s side. Industry heavyweights Ayan Mukerji, Karan Johar, and Akash Ambani, along with their spouses Shloka and Shloka Ambani, all attended.

Every tree along this stretch of road from Vastu to their new home was lit up with twinkling lights. The distance between the two properties is only about 180 meters.
