COVID was eradicated from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday, a health department official said.

The Union Territory has vaccinated 6,78,927 adults over the age of 18 so far. For those aged 15 to 18, 23,464 have been vaccinated, while 12,092 children aged 12 to 14 have been immunised.

According to the official, 22,682 people have received a preemptive dose of COVID-19 vaccines thus far.

Thane has logged 30 new cases for Covid-19

An official in Maharashtra’s Thane district reported on Wednesday that the district’s coronavirus infection count had risen to 7,09,410 from the previous day’s 30 new cases. On Tuesday, he said, new cases were reported.

More than 11,000 people have been killed in India’s worst natural disaster, and the death toll stands at 11,895. Another official said that the COVID-19 case count in Palghar was 1,63,612 and the death toll was 3,407 in the neighbouring district.
