The state’s incumbent BJD declared that it was ready to take part in an early election.
BJD vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra told PTI on Tuesday that the party has strong public support and is ready to run in elections at any moment under the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
In response to a hypothetical question, he stated, “I have heard about it and people are discussing it. The BJD is prepared for it. We have huge support among the people. If other stakeholders and the Election Commission of India are ready to hold an early election in Odisha.”
Mishra stated that the BJD is always ready for early polls, noting that BJP state president Manmohan Samal and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan had already discussed it.
Samal claimed to comprehend the BJD’s preference for holding an early election and that it might even suggest it.
