BJP promises a miracle in Rajasthan RS elections

On Friday, the ruling Congress voiced confidence in its ability to win three of Rajasthan’s four Rajya Sabha seats, while the opposition BJP promised a “miracle” when the results were announced.

The Congress would comfortably win three of the four seats, according to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

He chastised the BJP for fielding Subhash Chandra as an independent candidate despite not having a majority, alleging Chandra was despised by his own MLAs.

According to the BJP, both the official BJP candidate Ghanshyam Tiwari and the independent candidate Chandra are predicted to win.

Before leaving for the assembly building to vote, Gehlot told reporters outside the Hotel Leela Palace on the Delhi highway

“I’ll say it again: we’re gaining three seats comfortably, and they (the BJP) should focus on their own house. The manner in which they fielded another candidate did not go over well with their party’s MLAs. There is a reaction throughout the state. We would have easily won all four seats (three by us and one by the BJP) if elections had not been held .”

He stated that the BJP tried and failed to accomplish the same way in the previous Rajya Sabha elections in 2020. He predicted that they will be defeated yet again. However, BPL MLA Vasudev Devnani predicted a “miracle” when the results are released in the evening.

“Our position hasn’t changed. You will witness a miracle when the votes are disclosed.” Devnani informed reporters in the assembly after casting his vote.

A candidate must collect 41 votes to win. With 108 MLAs, the Congress will have 26 extra votes after winning two seats. You’ll need 15 votes to win the third seat.
