Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh resigns from the post of President of Wrestling Federation of India

It’s been more than 20 days that the wrestlers are protesting against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

It is said that the wrestlers are receiving support from all over the country.

Recently farmers from nearby areas of Delhi also joined wrestlers in their protest. The result of this was Indian Olympic Association has stopped Mr Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and 13 of his associate officials from doing any kind of administrative or financial transactions of the federation.

On 13 May, 2023 Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had to resign from the post of the president of Indian Wrestling Federation. This decision of IOA is considered like a milestone in the wrestlers fight against Brij Bhushan.

IOA recently issued a statement in which they said that any present officials of the Wrestling Federation of India will not have a say in any kind of official work.

The newly formed committee will follow all the rules and regulations of of Indian Olympic Association. It has also ordered the present officials to present all the necessary legal documents regarding website administration, financial transactions and participation of Indian wrestlers in any International event.

On May 12, 2023 Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has already submitted his statement to the newly formed SIT headed by a female Delhi Police DCP.

He has already denied any allegations levelled against him by the 7 female wrestlers who have accused him of sexual harassment. The wrestlers are protesting on the issue for the past 20 days on New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
