According to the swashbuckling David Warner, his opening partner at Delhi Capitals, Prithvi Shaw, “my quick twos out of the equation” with his equally aggressive approach in the current IPL, Warner says.

Top-order batsmen Warner and Shaw have formed a destructive partnership, contributing to several strong starts for the team, including Wednesday’s 81-run stand against Punjab Kings in six power play overs.

Warner said on Star Sports that he loves his new opening partner: “I am absolutely loving it” (opening innings with Shaw). Look at how quick his hands are and how amazing his eyes are. Because he keeps dealing with boundaries, he has removed my quick twos from the equation. It’s nice that I don’t have to do much running. The tone is set right away by him. Due to the rarity of two players going off in this format, we always keep playing positive and to our best abilities as an objective in our minds.” Against Punjab Kings, DC ruled the game and won by nine wickets.

The Capitals got off to a good start, dismissing Punjab for 115 runs in 20 overs. In response, Warner and Shaw got Delhi off to a quick start and completed the chase in a short amount of time.
