Mumbai, Feb 29 (IANS) Delving into her long-held childhood wish, actress Deepika Singh adorned her nose with a piercing for her role in the show ‘Mangal Lakshmi’.

Deepika is thrilled about going to great lengths to portray Mangal.

Talking about her preparations for the role, Deepika, who is best known for ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ shared: “As a kid, I always wanted to get my nose pierced, but I couldn’t. I would always use stick-on bindis or accessories. However, for this character, I got a nose piercing, and I am thrilled that it suits me. The experience of getting the piercing was quite memorable and scary.”

“It took a lot of courage because the first attempt didn’t go well, and I remember my nose bleeding a little. I had to go back to the piercer and get it done again. It was a bit painful, but in the end, it was worth it. As an actor, I am all in for bending over backward to ensure authenticity,” she said.

‘Mangal Lakshmi’ is a heartfelt story centered around a homemaker and her younger sister shedding light on the foundation of love and marriage – respect. In this story of sisterly bond, the elder one Mangal paves the way for a brighter future for her younger sister, Lakshmi, depicted by Sanika Amit.

The show airs at 9 pm on Colors.

After Mehendi, stage set for Sonakshi-Zaheer civil marriage and celebratory party

Published

By

Mumbai, June 23 (IANS) The stage is set for the much-anticipated wedding of Sonakshi Sinha with long-time beau Zaheer Iqbal.

The wedding celebrations officially kicked off with the arrival of producer Ramesh Taurani’s wedding gift for Zaheer — a wine bottle accompanied by flowers.

Ahead of their wedding, Sonakshi and Zaheer hosted a private mehendi ceremony for family and friends. Sonakshi, known as Sona among friends, wore a stunning red and brown outfit, even as Zaheer’s relatives welcomed her into Bandstand Building A, which is how the Iqbal residence is known.

The Sinha family home, Ramayana, was brightly lit up on Saturday evening in anticipation of the wedding.

As officially announced by Zaheer’s father, Iqbal Ratansi, it will be a civil marriage, which will be followed by a celebratory party at the upper-crust Mumbai restaurant, Bastian, on Linking Road, Bandra West.

The restaurant, which is owned by Shilpa Shetty, is now helmed by the formerly New York-based Michelin-starred celebrity chef, Suvir Saran.

Sonakshi and the man she lovingly describes as her “personal psycho”, Zaheer Iqbal, have been dating for the past seven years. It was Salman Khan, a friend of Zaheer’s family and Sonakshi’s ‘Dabangg’ co-star, who played Cupid, according to media reports.

It is said that the couple met when Zaheer was shooting for ‘Notebook’, the 2019 romantic drama produced by Salman Khan. Zaheer was making his debut in the film opposite another newbie, Pranutan Bahl, daughter of actor Mohnish Bahl, and granddaughter of Nutan.

Zaheer, the eldest child of leading Mumbai jeweller Iqbal Ratansi, acted opposite her in the critically panned 2022 film ‘Double XL’, where he plays a London-based TV line producer, Zorawar Rahmani.

The film, which also features Huma Qureshi, sees Sonakshi as fashion designer Sara Kapoor, who relocates to London from Delhi after a broken relationship.

Zaheer was last seen on the big screen in a special appearance with Salman’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in the action film, Ruslaan, released earlier this year. Like ‘Double XL’, ‘Ruslaan’ also bombed at the box office.

By

Mumbai, June 23 (IANS) It’s a relaxed Sunday morning at the ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’ house on the second day, with contestants waking up to the energetic beats of ‘Udta Punjab’.

The visuals show social media influencer and YouTuber Armaan Malik hugging his second wife, Kritika Malik.

Armaan is participating in the controversial reality show along with both his wives, Payal and Kritika.

Television actress Sana Makbul and the famous ‘Vada Pav’ girl Chandrika Dixit also grooved to the track.

However, it will be interesting to see whether the day will remain smooth and easy or if there will be any storms on the horizon.

On day one, the audience witnessed actor Ranveer Shorey criticising social media influencer Lovekesh Kataria’s behaviour over a rationing issue. Tension flared in the house during a discussion about dividing food between vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

Ranveer asserted his right to take his share according to his needs, but things got heated when Lovekesh approached the ‘Ugly Aur Pagli’ actor too closely. Ranveer replied, “Be in your limits. I’m double your age; so, don’t cross boundaries.”
