Delhi’s government goes back on Rs 500 fine for not wearing a face mask

The Rs 500 punishment for not wearing a mask in public areas in India’s capital was rescinded by an order issued by the Delhi government on Thursday.

Following a meeting last month, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) decided to suspend enforcing the penalty as of September 30 due to the declining number of COVID-19 incidents in the nation’s capital. In spite of this, no announcement had been made formally.
