Djokovic comes back to beat Dimitrov despite injury

While Novak Djokovic advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open with a 7-6(7), 6-3, 6-4 victory over Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, concerns regarding the durability of his ailing left hamstring persisted.

Although he started the match with a break, the Serbian squandered three set points at 5-3, dropped serve late in the game, and eventually won the first set in an exciting tie-break.

After a medical timeout, a heavily-strapped but more aggressive Djokovic piled on the pressure with persistent backhand returns, pushed his lead to 4-2 when 27th seed Dimitrov hit the net to relinquish his serve, and went on to win the second set.

Even a partially healthy Djokovic is still a tough opponent to beat, but the fourth seed was more confident in his movement and won the third set after breaking Dimitrov twice to start the set.
