Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in a confrontation with security forces in Srinagar on Tuesday, police said. One of the terrorists was a Pakistani national.

“In a confrontation in Srinagar’s Bemina neighborhood, two terrorists from the proscribed terror group LeT were neutralized by Srinagar Police. “The operation resulted in minor injuries to one police officer,” a police official said.

Late Monday night, a ‘chance encounter’ occurred.

One of the slain terrorists has been identified as Abdullah Goujri, a native of Faisalabad, Pakistan, according to paperwork and other incriminating materials collected from the encounter scene, according to Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar.

“This was the same bunch of militants that had managed to flee the Sopore engagement.” “We’ve been keeping tabs on their whereabouts,” the IGP remarked.

Adil Hussain Mir alias Sufian, a resident of Anantnag area, was identified as the other killed militant, according to him.

“According to police records, he entered Pakistan on a visit visa from Wagah in 2018,” Kumar added.
