India successfully launches Agni-4 test

At around 1930 hours today, a successful test launch of an Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, was carried out from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

According to the military ministry, the launch validated all operational criteria as well as the system’s reliability.

The successful test was carried out as part of the Strategic Forces Command’s routine user training launches.

According to the military ministry, the successful test reinforces India’s policy of having a “Credible Minimum Deterrence” capability.
