Indian Army opens fire near Poonch Line of Control

According to officials, the Army fired shots on Wednesday after spotting suspicious activity close to the border fence along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

Around 4 am, the forward Karmara village in the Gulpur sector reported hearing gunfire, but there was no immediate word of any casualties, according to the officials.

They claimed that after noticing some suspicious movements of individuals attempting to enter the border illegally, the Army personnel opened fire with small guns.

When the final reports were received, the entire area was roped off, and a search operation was in progress, according to the officials.
