Is your phone lost or stolen then, head to Sanchar Saathi

The Indian government’s telecom department unveiled the Sanchar Saathi webpage on Tuesday, allowing Indian citizens to remotely disable and track their misplaced or stolen mobile devices.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of communications for India’s central government, has indicated that the Sanchar Saathi platform will allow users to verify the authenticity of a used gadget, as well as restrict or trace it.

CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) is the first component of the Sanchar Saathi site. This is the place to go if you ever misplace your cell phone. According to Vaishnaw, “the platform will connect with law enforcement agencies and telecom service providers to disable your misplaced mobile phone after you verify your identity and provide an undertaking.

He stated that the prime minister has a clear vision that user safety requires a great deal of attention, and that the Sanchar Saathi portal’s services are in line with that vision.
