Jill Biden receives a lab-grown diamond from Modi

Dr. Jill Biden received a 7.5-carat lab-grown green diamond from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The diamond has the chemical and visual characteristics of earth-mined diamonds.

Because renewable energy sources like solar and wind power were employed in its construction, it is also environmentally benign.

Additionally, Modi gave President Joe Biden a copy of The Ten Principal Upanishads, a book printed in first edition form at University Press Glasgow and published by London’s Faber and Faber Ltd.

A beautiful sandalwood box made by a master craftsman from Jaipur was also given by the PM to President Biden. Mysore sandalwood is carved with exquisite floral and animal motifs.

The Ganesha idol is in the package. A Kolkata-based family of fifth-generation silversmiths created the idol by hand.

A diya is also included in the box. The fifth generation of silversmiths in Kolkata are the craftspeople who created this silver diya.
