Director Rose Glass has cast Hollywood star Kristen Stewart in the lead role of a romantic thriller. Titled Love Lies Bleeding and produced by A24, the film explores a love story fueled by selfishness, desire, and the promise of the American Dream.
This is Glass’ first feature film direction since the 2019 indie hit Saint Maud, which she co-wrote with Weronika Tofilska, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The focus of the story is on what it takes to be successful in the bodybuilding industry. As a co-lead, Stewart will play a female bodybuilder’s protective lover.
Along with Andrea Cornwell of Lobo Films and Oliver Kassman of Escape Plan Productions, A24 will serve as the film’s producer.
For her performance as Princess Diana in Spencer, Stewart was nominated for an Oscar. Crimes of the Future, a sci-fi film directed by David Cronenberg, will be her next project.
