In the Karnataka Rajya Sabha elections on Friday, HD Kumaraswamy, the leader of the Janata Dal (Secular), accused Congress leader Siddaramaiah of forcing JDS MLAs to vote for the grand old party’s nominee instead of their own party’s candidate.
“Unquestionably. He is attempting to persuade them to vote against the JD(S).” Kumaraswamy responded to Siddaramaiah’s claims that some JD(S) MLAs were in communication with him.
According to the former Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah denied sending an open letter to JDS MLAs urging that they cast their “conscience vote” in favor of his party’s nominee.
“In front of the local media today, he (Siddaramaiah) stated that he did not write to my MLAs. He had even tweeted the letter from his social media account. He’s now contradicting himself with what he said the day before. This reveals his hypocrisy “The JD(S) leader went on to say.
According to Kumaraswamy, BJP general secretary CT Ravi was purportedly observed visiting the Congress headquarters in Karnataka.
“CT Ravi is the general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but how did he come into Congress? This shows that CT Ravi met with Siddaramaiah to express gratitude for his help in ensuring the election of the BJP candidate “he declared
He expressed assurance, asserting that the JD(S) has already clinched 30-31 Rajya Sabha seats.
“We anticipate receiving 30-31 votes. JD(S) leader K Srinivasa Gowda has declared that he will vote for Congress. So, how about we have a look?” He went on to state the following.
