Lakshya Sen, the world No. 9, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Masters 2022 after defeating Rasmus Gemke of Denmark in straight games in Jakarta on Thursday.
Sen had little trouble on Court 2 against Gemke, except in the first set, when the two players went toe-to-toe before Sen stepped up and won the first game 21-18.
Gemke gained the lead at 11-10 in the second game, thanks to some fierce cross-court exchanges, but Sen came back to win the match 21-18, 21-15, and go to the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Masters 2022.
PV Sindhu will compete in the women’s singles quarterfinals against Gregoria Mariska Tungjung later in the day.
