Barcelona’s newest recruit, Robert Lewandowski, is looking forward to taking on new challenges, and the 33-year-old claimed he is prepared to participate in their forthcoming preseason matchup against rival Real Madrid in the United States.
Lewandowski, a striker from Poland, was introduced as a Barcelona player on Wednesday in Miami, Florida, a day after leaving Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich in a deal worth up to 50 million euros.
During their preseason practise tour of the US, Barcelona will take on LaLiga champions Real on Saturday at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
“I’m overjoyed. It presents a fresh challenge for me as well because I am aware that playing football requires constant hunger. And I continue to be hungry for my mindset, game victories, and scoring goals “said Lewandowski.
“I’m prepared to join the team, and I’ll be on the field during the upcoming practise. I’m eager to take part in the upcoming game.”
Lewandowski, whose release clause was set by Barcelona at 500 million euros, claimed to see enormous potential in his new side despite realising they still had work to do to regain the top spot in Spain.
