In proceedings involving alleged anomalies in the creation and application of the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy, the former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia withdrew his interim bail requests on Wednesday, stating that his wife’s health was stable.

Sisodia was given permission by Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma to rescind her requests for temporary bail.

The CBI and Enforcement Directorate are looking into the senior AAP politician for possible money laundering and corruption.Sisodia is being held in judicial detention at the Tihar prison.

He had pleaded for both regular and temporary release on bail for a number of reasons, including the ill health of his wife.

Senior attorney Mohit Mathur, who is representing Sisodia, stated that because the AAP leader’s wife’s condition is now stable and the decision on the main bail request in the CBI case has already been reserved, he does not desire to pursue interim bail.

However, Additional Solicitor General S V Raju, speaking on behalf of the CBI and ED, claimed that the withdrawal of the bail applications was not a straightforward matter.

Raju claimed that the action was taken as a result of his accusation that Sisodia purposefully withheld information by failing to mention his wife’s medical discharge in court.
