The Hindustani Awam Morcha, another BJP ally, has declared its support for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to dissolve the BJP-led coalition and form the next Bihar government alongside the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress, and Left parties.

In the state assembly, the HAM has 4 MLAs.

Jitan Ram Manjhi, a former chief minister and the head of HAM, claimed that a gathering of his party’s MLAs had resolved to back Kumar.

“I had already stated that HAM would stick by Kumar and would back his choice. After Kumar severed relations with the BJP, this was publicly resolved today.”

As a result of HAM giving Kumar its support, he now has the backing of 164 MLAs in the 243-member Bihar assembly.

The BJP is the second-largest party with 77 MLAs, followed by the RJD with 79, and the JD-U with 45. Left parties have 16 MLAs, whereas the Congress has 19 MLAs.
