MIG-29 fuel tank falls off during exercise

MIG 29 India

A MiG-29 aircraft’s extra fuel tank landed in a forest close to the Kalaikunda base in West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur district on Monday during a training exercise, according to a defence official.

According to him, neither a person’s life nor any property was lost as a result of the occurrence.

A typical training operation was being carried out by the MiG-29 aircraft.

The ventral drop tank, which is intended to transport additional fuel, became loose while flying back to Kalaikunda Airbase and crashed into a remote jungle, according to a defence official.

According to him, the civil government was working with the military to get the drop tank to the Kalaikunda airbase.

According to the official, an investigation was launched to determine what caused the occurrence.
