Modi calls Amit Shah & asks him about the Delhi floods

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi contacted Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday from France to inquire about the flood-like conditions in some areas of Delhi.

They added that during their phone call, Shah informed Modi about the flood-like conditions and informed him that the water level in the Yamuna is anticipated to drop within the next 24 hours.

“PM @narendramodi ji spoke to Union Home Minister @AmitShah over the flood-like situation in parts of Delhi due to the rising water level of the Yamuna river,” the home minister’s office stated in a tweet.

Shah informed him that the water level is likely to drop within the next 24 hours and that he and the Lt Governor of Delhi are closely monitoring the situation.

Teams from the National Disaster Response Force have been sent out in sufficient numbers to carry out rescue and relief operations and assist those in need.

As a result of the flooding caused by the overflowing Yamuna river on Thursday, officials decided to close all schools and colleges till July 16 and forbid the entry of heavy cargo vehicles performing non-essential activities.
