An official claimed that the Mumbai police on Monday issued prohibitory orders until June 11 banning movement and unlawful gatherings of five or more people in order to prevent public disruption, breach of peace, danger to human life, and damage of property in the city.
According to the order, gatherings of five or more people, processions, the use of loudspeakers and other amplification devices, musical bands, and the setting off of firecrackers are all prohibited. However, marriage ceremonies, funeral assemblies, and official meetings of businesses, clubs, cooperative societies, etc. are exempt.
Along with assemblies in or around courts of law, offices of the government, and local bodies performing government and semi-government functions, it said that assemblies in or around theatres, movie theatres, or any other public entertainment venue for the purpose of watching films, plays, or performances are also exempt.
