New Covid cases in Mumbai increase to 218

Mumbai reported 218 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, up from 150 the day before, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 10,63,276, while the death toll remained at 19,566, according to a civic official.

According to the official, 201 of the 218 new COVID-19 patients were asymptomatic, while none of the 17 who were hospitalized required oxygen support. Only 48 of the 24,488 hospital beds set aside for the pandemic are presently occupied.

He also noted that it was the seventh day in a row that the total had increased by more than 100.

According to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official, the recovery count grew by 158 in the last 24 hours, bringing the active caseload in the city to 1,430.

The recovery rate was 98 percent, the caseload doubling time was 3,914 days, and the overall case growth rate between May 17 and 23 was 0.017 percent, according to BMC statistics.

According to civic data, the total number of tests conducted in the city increased to 1,70,79,241 in the last 24 hours.
