Nisha Upadhyay, a bhojpuri singer, reportedly took a bullet wound while live singing at a cultural event in Saran, Bihar.
The folk singer was injured in her left thigh and was taken to Max hospital in Patna. Her condition is said to be stable.
A police officer was described by India Today as saying, “We received information about the incident, but no written complaint has yet been filed,” in reference to the incident. We are looking into who was engaged in the shooting and how the rounds were fired.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Nisha Upadhyay is a resident of Patna and is from the Saran district hamlet of Gaur Basant. Le Le Aaaye Coca Cola, Navkar Mantra, Dholida Dhol Re Vagad, and Hasi Hasi Jaan Marela are a few of her well-known songs.
