Nitish Kumar: Oppn will participate in the 2024 elections

Nitish Kumar Opposition meet Patna

Up to 17 opposition parties decided on Friday to work together and defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by putting aside their differences.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, announced that the leaders will meet in the coming days to finalise their strategy for fighting together. The meeting lasted about four hours and was attended by the leaders of 17 parties.

“We had a productive discussion, and numerous leaders spoke their opinions. According to him, 17 parties have made the decision to cooperate and run as one during the Lok Sabha elections.

The first meeting’s host, Kumar, asserted that they were acting in the national interest and accused the BJP of doing the opposite by attempting to alter the nation’s history.

Next month’s gathering of opposition leaders would be held in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, according to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

We have resolved to create a shared agenda and will make decisions about how to proceed in the following meeting, he stated. To overthrow the BJP at the centre, we shall cooperate and develop unique plans for each state.

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, said, “We may disagree on some things, but we’ve decided to work together to protect our ideology.”

The initial meeting was held in Patna, according to Mamata Banerjee, the TMC leader and chief minister of West Bengal, since “whatever starts from Patna, takes the shape of the public movement.”

She asserted that “the BJP wants to change history, but we’ll make sure that history is saved” and added that “we all are united and will fight unitedly against BJP.”
