Novak Djokovic rallies past Enzo Couacaud to reach 3rd round

Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round on Thursday after defeating French qualifier Enzo Couacaud 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-0.

The Serbian cruised through the first set, but world number 191 Couacaud boosted his pace and energy to even the match in a tiebreak in the 74th minute.

Fourth seed Djokovic changed his shirt and used heavy artillery to win the final two sets on Rod Laver Arena and set up a third-round match against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.

The 35-year-old needed a medical timeout to adjust the strapping on his left thigh in the second set but otherwise seemed unaffected by the hamstring injury he suffered two weeks earlier in Adelaide.
