Pankaja Munde, a former minister for Maharashtra and national secretary for the Bharatiya Janata Party, claimed on Thursday that while she is a member of the party, the party is not a member of her.
Since her defeat in the 2019 assembly elections, Munde, the daughter of the late senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde, has kept a low profile.
Between 2014 and 2019, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis served as the chief minister of Maharashtra, and she was a member of his cabinet.
She claimed during a speech that the BJP is a large party and does not belong to her.
“I am a BJP member. She made reference to the Rashtriya Samaj Paksha (RSP), which is run by Mahadeo Jankar, when she remarked, “If I have an issue with my father, I would go to my brother’s residence.
Gopinath Munde’s close friend Jankar declared, “Our community won’t benefit from my sister’s party because the remote control will be with someone else.”
There have been rumours that Munde has been marginalised by the state BJP for the past few years.
In August 2022, following the Eknath Shinde-Fadnavis cabinet’s initial expansion, she had hinted that she could not have been eligible for a position.
