PM meets Nikhat Zareen, the World Boxing Champion

Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Nikhat Zareen, India’s newest boxing world champion, and her teammates Manisha Moun and Parveen Hooda, who just earned bronze medals in the Istanbul event, on Wednesday.

Manisha and rookie Parveen scored podium finishes in the 57kg and 63kg divisions, respectively, while Nikhat won the coveted gold in the flyweight (52kg) event.

“I was delighted to meet boxers Nikhat Zareen, Manisha Moun, and Parveen Hooda, who represented India in the Women’s World Boxing Championship. We had some great discussions about their lives, including their passion for sports and life in general. Best of luck to them in their future endeavors, “Modi sent out a tweet.
