The third and last stop on his three-nation tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sydney on Monday.
While there, he will meet with his Australian colleague Anthony Albanese and take part in a celebration of the vibrant and diverse Indian diaspora.
From May 22 to 24, Modi will be in Australia as a guest of the Australian government.
“I am honoured to host Prime Minister Modi for an official visit to Australia, after receiving an incredibly warm welcome in India earlier this year,” Prime Minister Albanese said in a statement prior to Modi’s arrival.
“A peaceful, safe, and prosperous Indo-Pacific is a goal shared by Australia and India. Together, we have a crucial part to play in advancing this goal, he said, in the face of China’s assertive actions in the area and its efforts to increase its influence.
