PM Modi pays tribute to former PM Nehru on his 59th death anniversary

On the 59th death anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to him on Saturday.

Nehru, India’s first and longest-serving prime minister, passed away in 1964 while still in office.

On his death anniversary, Modi tweeted, “I pay tribute to our former prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.”

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi said, “On his death anniversary, I pay tributes to our former PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru”.

Jawaharlal Nehru had a prominent role in India’s freedom struggle. He also went on to become India’s first Prime Minister after independence in 1947.
