As he presided over the major event of the International Day of Yoga on Tuesday against the majestic Mysuru Palace backdrop, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that yoga provides harmony to our universe.
In Mysuru, thousands of people participated in a mass yoga demonstration with the prime minister.
“Our own body and soul are the beginning of the entire cosmos. The universe begins with us “Modi stated. Yoga also increases consciousness and makes us aware of everything within of us.
“Yoga helps us find tranquilly. Yoga offers tranquilly to groups as well as to individuals. Yoga promotes harmony in our culture. Yoga promotes world and national peace. Yoga also promotes world peace “said the prime minister.
There were several notable people in attendance, including the governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, the union AYUSH minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the royal scion of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and “Rajmata” Pramoda Devi.
The International Day of Yoga has been observed annually on June 21 since 2015. “Yoga for Humanity” is the focus of this year’s Yoga Day.
