Punjab’s Aam Aadmi Party government will present its maiden state budget on June 27, according to a decision made at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday in Chandigarh.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said in a tweet that the state assembly’s Budget session will take place from June 24 to June 30.

The AAP government had previously called the budget a “Janta Budget,” in which it solicited public input.
The Punjab Cabinet approved the convening of the 16th Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s Budget session on June 24 and recommended it to Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, who is authorized to convene the state legislature under Article 174 (1) of the Constitution.
According to a press release issued in Chandigarh, the finance minister will introduce the Budget for 2022-23 on June 27 and a general discussion will follow.
During the session, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s audit report for 2018-19 and 2019-20, as well as financial and appropriation accounts for 2019-20 and 2020-21, will be tabled.
