PV Sindhu loses in straight sets in the Indonesia Masters

PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic winner, lost the women’s singles quarter-final to World No. 8 Ratchanok Intanon on Friday at the Indonesia Masters Super 500 tournament.

In Jakarta, Sindhu was outclassed 12-21 and 10-21 by Intanon, indicating that she was prone to errors.

Ratchanok Intanon had now defeated PV Sindhu for the fifth time in a row. The Indian shuttler now has a 9-4 record versus the 27-year-old.

Sindhu had advanced to the quarter-finals after a tough win over Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the second round on Thursday, but she struggled against Chen.

Lakshya Sen had lost in the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Masters Super 500 tournament earlier in the day to Chou Tien Chen, a higher-seeded opponent.
