Raj Thackeray admitted to the hospital and will have a hip surgery

Raj Thackeray, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief, was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday, where he will undergo hip surgery on Wednesday, according to a party leader.

Thackeray, 53, announced earlier this month that he will be receiving surgery for knee and back ailments.

MNS leader Nitin Sardesai said, “He will have hip surgery tomorrow.”

Thackeray had lately made headlines for issuing an ultimatum to mosques to remove loudspeakers.

He was also planning to visit Ayodhya on June 5, but he has postponed his trip for the time being.
