Ranbir Kapoor, a Bollywood actor, apologized on Wednesday for criticizing wife Alia Bhatt for gaining weight while pregnant and said it was a joke that “didn’t turn out to be humorous.”
Kapoor, who recently remarked “phailoed” (spread) in reference to his wife’s weight during an Instagram Live session with Bhatt, who is also his co-star in the upcoming Brahmastra: Part One Shiva, received harsh criticism on social media.
In response to the online uproar, he stated that his terrible sense of humor and lack of malicious intent were his responses.
