Satyendar Jain granted bail on medical grounds

Satyendar Jain admitted in hospital

Satyendar Jain, a former AAP minister who was hospitalised after falling in the toilet of Delhi’s Tihar Jail on Thursday, is granted bail on medical grounds.

The incarcerated former Delhi minister is granted interim bail by the Supreme Court, which also orders him to furnish medical documents and asks him not to speak to the media during that time.

According to sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained Satyendar Jain on May 30 of last year.

The ED case is based on a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) complaint that was filed on the allegation that Jain had acquired movable properties from February 14, 2015, to May 31, 2017, in the names of various people, but was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation.
