Mumbai, March 8 (IANS) Actor-singer Shannon K, who is the daughter of veteran singer Kumar Sanu, paid a soul-stirring tribute to the late legendary composer Bappi Lahiri by recreating ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ from the 1982 movie ‘Disco Dancer’.

Shannon, who has collaborated with Bappa Lahiri, son of Bappi Lahiri, for the track, said: “When I met Bappi uncle on his birthday, he promised to call me soon for a song recording. Unfortunately, he fell ill shortly after, leaving us all in shock.”

Turning grief into a tribute, Shannon K collaborated with Bappa to honour Bappi Lahiri through ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ remake.

“Recording this song and filming the music video was an incredible experience. ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ has always been one of my favourite songs of Bappi, and to pay homage to him through this project is truly special,” she added.

The song is now out on Saregama.

Mumbai, July 20 (IANS) Singer-songwriter King, who has released his new track ‘Pyaar Humara’, said that the track is about embracing the full spectrum of love.

‘Pyaar Humara’ is the sole love track from King’s album MM. The song blends elements of afrobeat and R&B, featuring King’s heartfelt vocals.

For the track, King has collaborated with music producer Bharg. King’s vocals take centre-stage, pouring out his heart about the unforgiving nature of love and the challenges of maintaining fidelity.

Talking about the song, King said, “Bharg & I wanted to create something that felt authentic and raw, a song that people could connect with on a deeper level. ‘Pyaar Humara’ is about embracing the full spectrum of love – the good, the bad, and everything in between.”

The track, which King wrote, composed, and performed, is available for streaming on all major music platforms and can also be found on King’s YouTube page.

Despite the inviting soundscape, King doesn’t shy away from expressing disappointment and the complexities of navigating romantic relationships.

Earlier this year, King teamed up with Jason Derulo for the song ‘Bumpa’ and released ‘Way Bigger’ from his album Monopoly Moves.

This song reflects on King’s successes, wealth, and past struggles, exploring themes of relationships and aspirations.

Mumbai, July 20 (IANS) Actress Sonam Kapoor reflected on the uniqueness of the Indian English phrase “tight slap” by sharing a snippet from Sandeep Nulkar’s book ‘Mind it!: A Tongue-in-Cheek Look at How Indian English Can Amuse and Even Confuse’.

Sonam took to her Instagram stories and shared an article.

The article, titled “A ‘tight slap’ only exists in Indian English. Everywhere else, they hit ‘hard’,” references Sandeep’s book.

The book explores how Indian English can sometimes amuse or confuse. It presents a collection of over 100 classic “Indianisms.”

Sonam, who did not caption her post, is known for her thoughtful social media reflections.

The actress, who is the daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, began her career as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’.

She made her acting debut in the 2007 romantic drama ‘Saawariya, alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Produced and directed by Bhansali, the film was based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s 1848 short story White Nights.

Sonam has since starred in movies such as ‘Delhi-6’, ‘I Hate Luv Storys’, ‘Mausam’, ‘Raanjhanaa’, and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.

In 2016, she played the lead role of Neerja Bhanot in the biographical thriller ‘Neerja’, directed by Ram Madhvani and written by Saiwyn Quadras and Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh.

The film, which also featured Shekhar Ravjiani, Shabana Azmi, Yogendra Tiku, Kavi Shastri, and Jim Sarbh, depicted the real-life event of the attempted hijacking of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan, by the Libyan-backed Abu Nidal Organization on September 5, 1986.

Sonam has also appeared in ‘Pad Man’, ‘Veere Di Wedding’, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’, ‘Sanju’, and ‘Blind’.

On the personal front, Sonam is married to businessman Anand Ahuja, and the couple has a son named Vayu.

On Saturday, the singer posted a throwback picture on his Instagram, capturing the moment he popped the question.

In the photo, Priyanka is seen hiding her face while flaunting her engagement ring, as Nick smiles into the camera.

Nick captioned the photo: “I asked the most amazing woman in the world to marry me 6 years ago today. Thank you for saying yes @priyankachopra.”

Fans of the couple flooded the comments section with joyful remarks, often referring to Nick as “Jiju.”

Priyanka reposted the picture on her Instagram stories, writing, “Cannot believe it’s been 6 years since this day.”

The couple tied the knot on December 1 and 2, 2018, in a grand celebration that honoured both Christian and Hindu traditions at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.

Mumbai, July 20 (IANS) Stand-up comedian and TV host Kapil Sharma gave fans a glimpse of his in-flight entertainment on Saturday, revealing that he enjoys watching his own show, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.

Kapil shared a short video on his Instagram stories, showing himself sitting in a flight and giving a glimpse of what he is enjoying on the screen while travelling.

The snippet shows ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ airing on the in-flight screen.

However, Kapil did not disclose his travel destination or provide a caption for the video.

Meanwhile, in June, the makers of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ (TGIKS) announced the second season of the celebrity comedy chat show.

The previous season featured notable guests such as superstar Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and his family, cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, international pop icon Ed Sheeran, and Kartik Aaryan, who appeared in the finale episode.

‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, which streams on Netflix, also includes performances by Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, and Archana Puran Singh as the permanent guest.

Kapil has also appeared in films such as ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’, ‘Firangi’, and ‘Zwigato’.

His most recent project is the heist comedy film ‘Crew’, directed by Rajesh A Krishnan and written by Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri.

Mumbai, July 20 (IANS) Actor Karan Kundrra has recently voiced his concerns about the unemployment issue in the country, sharing how such topics are more important, than focusing on reality shows like ‘Bigg Boss’.

A video that is doing the rounds on the internet shows Karan, who was the second runner up of the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss 15’, discussing the unemployment issue with the paparazzi.

When asked about the ongoing ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’, Karan, who was sitting in his car, responded in a disappointed tone: “To be very honest, this is not very important. Do you know India me kitni badi bade problems chal rahi hain, employment ko lekar, so those things are more important, than all these shit yaar.”

The current season of ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’ features contestants such as journalist Deepak Chaurasia, actors Ranvir Shorey, Sai Ketan Rao, Sana Makbul, social media influencers Sana Sultan Khan, Adnaan Shaikh, Lovekesh Kataria, and the couple Armaan Malik and Kritika Malik.
