Sharad Pawar meets Mamata in Delhi to discuss President Poll

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, is in New Delhi today for a gathering of non-BJP parties that she called to develop a common strategy for the forthcoming presidential election.

Banerjee, who is also the leader of the Trinamool Congress, wrote to 22 chief executives and opposition figures last week to invite them to the meeting on June 15 at the Constitution Club in the nation’s capital.

The TMC leadership feels optimistic about the meeting’s outcome. “We have high expectations for the meeting’s outcome.

As far as we are aware, all 22 leaders will be present for the meeting, according to a top TMC leader who wished to remain anonymous. She might also meet some of the opposition’s top figures.

There’s a potential she’ll see some opposition leaders after the meeting. However, nothing has been decided yet, according to the TMC leader.
