Shubman Gill, the opening batsman for the Gujarat Titans, said on Friday that his third century of the year was “probably” the best of his IPL career.
With a 60-ball 129, Gill continued his hot streak as Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 62 runs to advance to their second consecutive IPL final.
At the post-game presentation, Gill commented, “I think this was probably my best innings so far in the IPL.”
The fashionable opener believes his batting has benefited greatly from the mechanical adjustments he has made.
I got hurt before the most recent IPL, but I have been working on my game. I have worked on a few areas and made technical improvements ahead of the NZ series after the T20 World Cup, I think I have changed a gear since the last West Indies tour, he added.
When asked how he handles expectations, Gill responded, “Expectations are something that follow you outside the ropes, but once you step onto the pitch it is all about trying how to contribute for the team.”
