Singer KK’s death: Police files a case of unnatural death

The abrupt death of singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, also known as KK, on Tuesday night prompted Kolkata Police to file a case of unnatural death.

On May 31, while playing at an event in Kolkata, the singer became ill and was taken to the CMRI hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The case has been filed at the New Market police station, where the late singer’s family is being awaited.

An inquest and post-mortem will be done, according to the police, after the family’s agreement and the body identification process.

After the postmortem, KK’s mortal remains would be handed over to his family.

An investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Investigators are awaiting the preliminary post-mortem report.
