The ninth century is the setting for this historical fiction film, which is based on the name-bearing book by Kalki Krishnamurthy and centers on the childhood of the Chola Prince Arulmozhi Varman.

Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, R Sarathkumar, R Parthiban, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, and Rahman are among the star-studded cast members.

Ponniyin Selvan: The first half of my movie, which will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on September 30, will be released in two parts.

The movie is directed by the maverick director Mani Ratnam and music is composed by the Oscar winner composer A.R.Rahman.
