When Boris Becker won the gentlemen's singles title in the 1985 Championships, he was just 17 years old, making history.


Wilfred Baddeley, who won the title at the age of 19 in 1881, was the youngest men's champion prior to Becker (the Englishman won a couple more titles, in 1892 and 1895).


Dennis Ralston, an American, won the men's doubles title in 1960 at the age of 17 with Rafael Osuna of Mexico.


Lottie Dod, dubbed "The Little Wonder," was 15 years and 285 days old when she won the women's singles title in 1887.


Lottie wore a long white dress and black woolen stockings. She is still the youngest woman to win a singles match.

Australia's Rod Laver, who was 20 years old in 1959, is the youngest person to ever win the mixed doubles championship.

Serena Williams became the youngest woman to hold the title when she won the 1998 mixed tournament at the age of 16.
