On Monday at the scenic Arundel Castle Cricket Club, both left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat and batting mainstay Virat Kohli participated in practise with the national squad. Unadkat appeared to have recovered from a left shoulder ailment.
From June 7 to June 11, India will play Australia in a single Test at the Oval.
On Monday, the BCCI posted images of the squad’s players on their official Twitter account, including Kohli and the pace bowling pair of Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj.In a tweet, BCCI stated that “Team India members start their WTC23 preparations at Arundel Castle Cricket Club.”
Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was spotted rolling his arm over in the nets as Kohli, Umesh and Siraj were seen jogging in their new practise gear.
Unadkat was also conversing with bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and head coach Rahul Dravid. Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been practising for the final by competing for Sussex in the English county circuit, was also spotted arriving at the practise area.
Among the first group of Indian players to show up for the WTC final were Umesh and Shardul Thakur.
The final group, which includes Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Mohammad Shami, K S Bharat, and Ajinkya Rahane, will depart on Tuesday after the IPL final in Ahmedabad. They also include captain Rohit Sharma and youthful Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.
