Yogi Adityanath must now approve all transfers in Uttar Pradesh, according to a directive from the chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra.
Recent transfers in the PWD, Health, and Jal Shakti Departments caused a significant uproar in the state and the suspension of prominent officials.
The season of transfers concluded on June 30 and now all employees will be transferred after obtaining the necessary approval from the chief minister, according to the chief secretary’s order, which was sent to all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and secretaries on Tuesday.
All transfers at the district and division levels have to be completed by June 30 in accordance with the yearly transfer policy that was released on June 15.
In the state’s PWD Department, which is run by Minister Jitin Prasada, there had been a significant issue over the transfer of staff, which had resulted in the dismissal of his Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and the suspension of five senior department officials.
In response to the transfer of doctors in his department, deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak, who also handles the medical and health portfolios, wrote to Amit Mohan Prasad, the additional chief secretary, challenging the process used.
