Mumbai, April 30 (IANS) Music composer duo Vishal and Sheykhar have teamed up with playback singers Armaan Malik and Shirley Setia for the upcoming anime series ‘Pokemon Horizons: The Series’.

The original opening and ending soundtracks, created by the duo, were unveiled at a five-star property in the Juhu area of Mumbai on Tuesday.

These tracks capture the spirit of our childhood and promise to warm our hearts.

The new series introduces new characters along with an engaging storyline, featuring Pikachu at the helm of an airship.

Sharing their thoughts on the collaboration, Vishal and Sheykhar said: “We were thrilled to receive the call to collaborate with ‘Pokemon’. We’ve crafted tracks that capture the essence of fun and adventure synonymous with the brand, infusing them with a distinct Indian flair to deeply resonate with our local audience. We hope these tracks will keep reminding people of the animated series even when they are away from their TV sets.”

For Armaan, it’s surreal to think that the Pokemon cards he traded as a kid would lead him to sing the opening track for ‘Pokemon Horizons’ in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

“Growing up, watching ‘Pokemon’ every day was a ritual, and now, to be a voice that carries this legacy forward with the Horizons series is not just an honour, it’s a full-circle moment for me. Vishal-Sheykhar have infused traditional sounds with Pokemon’s global charm to create a melody that resonates with fans across generations,” he said.

Adding to the excitement, Shirley said: “It’s always an honour to be able to create something that resonates so well with our childhood. In fact, I have collected Pokemon soft toys and collectibles that I absolutely loved and still do. Lending my voice to this iconic franchise has been an incredible experience, and I hope the tracks will leave a lasting impression among fans.”

The first episode of the anime series is set to launch on May 25 on Hungama.

Raghav Sachar's take on composing music: 'Making songs is easier than background scores'

Published

By

Mumbai, May 17 (IANS) Singer Raghav Sachar, who composed music and created the background score for the live-action drama ‘Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan’ feels that making songs is an easier job rather than creating background score as it is a very lengthy process.

At the trailer launch on Friday, Raghav was asked how difficult it was to compose music and give the background score for the movie.

He said: “It was very challenging. There is so much happening in the film. There are so many themes which are unlike any other film. There is adventure so we had to take the music and background score a notch higher this time. I feel making songs is an easier job rather than creating a background score because it is a very lengthy process.”

Raghav shared that he had a blast while working on the film and it was a learning experience for him.

“I was very happy making songs for the film. We have a song by Shaan, Sukhi Paaji and I have even sung a song for the film. I am so grateful to be a part of this big franchise. I hope people will give love to the film and we will come up with more and more sequels,” he added.

Mumbai, May 17 (IANS) Rajat Verma, who plays Jay in the show ‘Dahej Daasi’ shared he is quite conscious of his looks, saying he still struggles with seeing himself as a good-looking actor.

Rajat shared that he doesn’t consider himself to be good-looking.

“I don’t consider myself to be a good-looking actor, and I’m quite conscious of my looks. I tend to focus on my flaws whenever I see myself, which makes me avoid looking at myself altogether,” he said.

“Instead, I prefer to focus on my performance when watching scenes, noticing any ups and downs or improvements. Ultimately, what matters most is the perspective of the producers, makers, channel, and audience. If they’re happy with my work, then that’s all that matters. However, I still struggle with seeing myself as a good-looking actor,” added Rajat.

The show is produced by Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat under their banner Do Dooni 4 Films.

Farah Khan says children prefer entertainment over messages in films

Published

By

Mumbai, May 17 (IANS) Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan shared how kids love to watch entertaining films and they don’t want messages to be told all the time through films.

Farah, who was present at the launch of the trailer of the upcoming film ‘Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan’ on Friday shared her views on making more kids-friendly films.

The ‘Main Hoon Na’ director said: “Whatever films I have made, it was loved by the kids. It doesn’t need to be said to be a kid’s friendly film to invite kids to watch the film. Kids love entertainment. They do not want messages to be told. They have schools for that. So, the real challenge is to make entertaining films that children can watch.”

Talking about the trailer of ‘Chhota Bheem’ she added: “It is a fantastic trailer. We all are Chhota Bheem fans. Indian kids need a home-grown superhero. Otherwise, we are always taking them to watch English films like Avengers, and Harry Potter. This is the first live-action film for kids. I want to congratulate the whole team for this film.”

New Delhi, May 17 (IANS) Actor Prateik Patil Babbar, who is all set to represent his mother and late legendary actress Smita Patil’s film “Manthan” at the 77th Cannes Film Festival by Shyam Benegal, says he is filled with immense pride as the movie is restored and that if his mother was here today, she too would have been “incredibly proud”.

In a tete-a-tete with IANS, Prateik, who legally added his mother’s last name earlier this year, said: “I am filled with immense pride as my mother’s 1976 film ‘Manthan’ has been restored and will premiere in the Cannes Classics section at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

“I have the honour of representing my late mother at this historic event, which also marks my debut at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival. This moment is deeply close for me as her son, having always regarded her as one of the greatest actresses in Indian cinema history,” said the actor.

“Manthan”, which won a National Award for Best Feature Film in 1977, was inspired by the pioneering milk cooperative movement of Verghese Kurien. The film, which was entirely crowdfunded by 5,00,000 farmers who donated Rs 2 each, is based on the White Revolution in the country.

Prateik (37) said that “Manthan” being showcased at the 77th Cannes Film Festival is a tremendous honour, both for the film and for Indian cinema.

“This film represents a significant moment in our cinematic history, demonstrating the power of collective effort and the impact of socially conscious storytelling,” said the actor, who will be seen walking the red carpet in an ensemble by designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna.

Talking about his late mother Smita Patil, who died aged 31 from childbirth complications in 1986, said: “If my mother were here today, she would be incredibly proud. She was always passionate about cinema which made a difference, and seeing ‘Manthan’ celebrated on such a prestigious global platform would validate her belief in meaningful art.
