Actor Harish Pengan, well known for his work in the Malayalam films Shefeekkinte Santhosham and Maheshinte Prathikaram, passed away on Tuesday in a private hospital in Kochi, according to sources in the movie business.
According to reports, the 48-year-old actor passed away around 3:14 PM while receiving hospital care for liver-related conditions.
When Pengan was taken to the hospital last month with abdominal pain, liver illness was discovered.
His passing occurred as his loved ones were working to raise money for his liver transplant.
In addition to playing significant roles in films like Jan E Man, Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hai, and Minnal Murali, Pengan is a native of a village close to Aluva in the Ernakulam district.
The FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala) Directors Union and the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed their condolences on his passing.
