Govt. relaxes Covid requirements for visitors from abroad

China Covid-19 surge

The former requirement for RT-PCR based testing of a random 2% subgroup of international visitors has been eliminated by the Union Health Ministry, thus loosening COVID-19 criteria for visitors from outside.

After considering the widespread coronavirus issue and the noteworthy advancements made in the vaccination coverage around the world, the restrictions have been loosened.

The revised rules will take effect at midnight on July 20.

The ministry stated that the preceding recommendations for precautionary measures to be observed by airlines and international travellers in the context of Covid should continue to be valid.
